Inspection protocol for Tempered Laminated Float Glass

This specification complies with the requirements in BS EN12150-1:2000.

One protocol according to Page 2 has to be filled in for each batch and tempering occasion. Measurements of glass dimensions.

All measures according to Page 2 must be documented for all sizes of laminated glass in each batch. The measures include eventual misplacement between the single glasses.

The thickness is measured with a calliper whose accuracy is 0,01 mm.

Other dimensions according to the drawing is measured with accuracy better than 0,5 mm. All measuring tools must be calibrated.

Any deviation to allowed tolerances must be clearly stated with remark and no delivery can be made without clearance from the customer.

Measurements of Flatness

The distance between the ruler and glass for overall bow and local bow according to DOC704062 is measured along the edges of the glass and the biggest is documented on Page 2 for all sizes of laminated glass in each batch.

The distance is measured with a long straight ruler and a 300 mm long straight ruler and a type of calliper whose accuracy is 0,1 mm.

Fragment test

A single glass of identical or similar size as one glass to be delivered and tempered at the same time as the actual batch is marked with date and then broken by impact of a tool with radius 0,2 mm at the impact point .

A square of 50x50 mm is placed around the biggest particle and the numbers of crack free particles are counted.

The number of crack free particles is documented on each protocol according to Page 2. Only one test per tempering batch is necessary and is valid for all sizes in the batch. If however some glasses are tempered at another time, they will need a new fragment test.

A picture is taken that shows the particles and marked date.
